The Department of Epidemiology at the Mailman School of Public Health seeks an Officer of Research, Staff Associate II to join a collaborative research team conducting cancer studies that integrate epidemiologic, imaging, and genetic data. This individual will play a critical role in advancing research on cancer etiology, early detection, and disparities by providing scientific, technical, and analytic leadership across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in epidemiologic methods, data science, and translational research, and will contribute original ideas to study design, data integration, and analysis. Experience in cancer epidemiology or population-based cancer research. Familiarity with large national or cohort datasets (e.g., SEER registries). Prior experience supervising research staff or managing multi-site studies. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and analyze complex data. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Essential Functions Lead integration and analysis of large-scale epidemiologic and clinical datasets, 30% Provide technical and scientific input in study design, data collection protocols, and analysis plans, 20% Ensure quality control of data and adherence to data security and privacy regulations, 10% Contribute to lab and project management tasks including preparation of reports and papers for publication and assisting in supervising and mentoring junior research staff and trainees, 10% Master's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or a related field. At least 7 years of relevant research experience, with strong experience managing research or public health projects and managing and analyzing data. Advanced proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R, SAS, or similar. Experience implementing research studies and preparing scientific manuscripts. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary research environments.
