An electronics technician installs and maintains all electronic/electrical direct and indirect production equipment and perform the following work duties and responsibilities which are specific to this plant.
- Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on all electrical/electronic equipment.
- Performs general and preventive maintenance in specific areas of responsibility.
- Adheres to all documentation pertaining to position
- Works in assigned areas of the local facilities as needed
- Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate
- Works well with all departments and management, always cooperating with supervision and associates
- Maintains good housekeeping and sanitation habits that demonstrate a commitment to good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
- Carries tools as needed or required
- Ensures all work sites are properly maintained to optimize safety and cleanliness while working and after completing a job or project
- Alerts management if product contamination has occurred or further sanitation is required
- Informs management, associates, and Production personnel of downtime, either direct or potential, that might affect them or their process
- Completes all job related documentation accurately and neatly
- Demonstrates workplace behavior that is consistent with company policies and values
- Communicates job information to accomplish work tasks
- Maintains good attendance as defined by company and/or department policy
- Practices good personal hygiene and maintains a clean work area
- Exercises personal safety on the job and demonstrates a commitment to the safety of others and our products
Required Qualifications
- Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Demonstrated computer proficiency, including experience with:
- CMMS systems (e.g., MAXIMO)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Maintenance-specific applications (e.g., iWork, work instructions)
- Effective team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid administrative, mathematical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail
- Strong customer service orientation and commitment
- Willingness to obtain a license for operating powered industrial equipment
- Self-motivated, industrious, creative, and eager to support team development
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, including circuits and components
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and its applications
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and technical prints
- Proficient in PC-based tasks and general computer literacy
- Above-average mechanical, electrical, and electronic aptitude
- Flexibility to work extended or unscheduled shifts as required
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong attendance and safety track record
- Compliance with company vehicle operation requirements as defined by Corporate Risk Management
- Commitment to continuous learning through company-sponsored training, external seminars, or technical courses (travel may be required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance
- At least one year of experience in industrial electrical and/or electronics applications
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code and its practical applications
- Ability to install conduit and determine appropriate circuit protection
- Working knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) technologies
- Understanding of basic networking principles
- Experience with I/O server protocols and development
- Knowledge of industrial robotics
- Proficiency in maintenance software systems
- Associate degree in electrical/electronics or an equivalent qualification, such as:
- Vocational/technical certification
- Completion of the McKee Foods Electronics Training Program
- Approved apprenticeship program
- Engineering or technical degree from an accredited college
- Understanding of HMI/Wonderware software development
- Demonstrated troubleshooting ability with control systems and equipment
- Experience with motion control and servo system technologies
