Job Description

The Corporate Development Associate will provide support for Rockwell Automation's inorganic activities. You will provide financial analysis support in critical growth areas of value creation from acquisitions for the corporate development team. Leading the development and monitoring of key quantitative and qualitative performance indicators, you will work with business leaders to improve acquisition value creation success and assure accurate reporting. Also, you will be responsible for financial modeling support and needed valuation analysis related to M&A acquisition needed for executive reviews.

You will also help support identification and evaluation of inorganic opportunities, performing valuation, conducting industry research, conducting competitive analysis, and managing transactions, among other corporate development activities on a global basis. You will work directly with business leaders and functional leaders within the company and target companies, external legal advisors, investment banks, and other parties in the broader M&A and venturing ecosystems. You will report to our Manager, Corporate Development and work a hybrid schedule based at our headquarters in Milwaukee, WI.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Build financial models, perform valuation that includes DCF, comparable public companies, precedent transactions and return analysis
  • Help develop growth strategy and business case development by collaborating with Rockwell leaders
  • Support value creation/integration leader with pre-closing integration planning and post-close tracking of financial performance, synergies and other integration measurements working in collaboration with finance and other main functional leads
  • Manage quarterly acquisition reviews and historical acquisitions performance tracking
  • Support other types of transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
  • Prepare company investment profiles for business leaders to evaluate potential opportunity pipelines
  • Conduct competitor and industry benchmarking, competitive intelligence and market analysis related to competitor and complementary value creation
  • Provide other administrative support including virtual data room management, 3rd party database contract management, and NDAs.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related business field
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in investment banking or corporate development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mergers and acquisitions or venture investing
  • End-to-end M&A execution experience expressed by deal volume
  • Experience building relationships and collaborating on all aspects of M&A deal execution and diligence, including the management of internal and external teams.
  • Financial modeling, valuation, Excel, Word, and presentation development skills
  • Self-initiative to expand knowledge, and process improve own activities and responsibilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mergers and acquisitions or venture investing
