We are looking for a Mortgage Operations Supervisor to join our team! The Mortgage Operations Supervisor will work at our corporate office in Metairie 5 days a week due to the needs of the business.
Our Mortgage Operations Supervisor position has the initial salary of $55K - $66K annually, with consideration for skills and experience.
Primary Function:
A Mortgage Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing and monitoring the productivity and daily functions of the Loan Operations staff, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements, and maximizing operational efficiencies. Provides support, assistance, and backup processing for loan operations. The Mortgage Operation Supervisor will assist employees in the Mortgage Department and all appropriate internal credit union partners. Conducts daily business interactions and maintains constant alignment with OnPath's mission, culture, and core values. Encourages others to act with mission, culture, and core values in mind always. Demonstrates initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific direction from management. Ensures value through decision making that supports credit union goals and interests. Passionately displays a desire to build rapport and expand relationships with all members both internally and externally. Stays informed on OnPath's products and services to provide the right recommendations to the right members at the right time. Promotes and maintains a positive image of the credit union to peers, members, and communities we serve.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in mortgage operations.
  • Ensure that Mortgage Operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies.
  • Oversee team operations to optimize productivity, efficiency, and individual potential. This includes assigning tasks, monitoring performance, providing coaching, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, as well as the organization's mission, values, policies, and work rules.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues regarding member or internal inquiries, either by direct interaction, telephone, appropriate delegation or written correspondence.
  • Provides appropriate training and updates for processors to ensure ongoing knowledge of systems, regulatory matters, products and investors.
  • Compiles weekly reports and other regular reports for management.


Knowledge and Experience
Experience:


  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • Proven experience in managing a loan pipeline and providing support to loan processors.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Capable of learning a Loan Origination System (LOS) and providing training as required.


Education:
A high school degree or equivalent
Interpersonal Skills:
A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
Other Skills:
Proven experience in managing a loan pipeline and providing support to loan processors. Proficient in PC applications, including spreadsheets and word processing. Capable of learning a Loan Origination System (LOS) and providing training as required.
ADA Requirements
Physical Requirements:
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements:
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
