We have a Mechanical Service Technician position available in Loveland, CO. Wunderlich-Malec Services' CASE RMC business unit is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and hands-on Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technician/specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, immersive role-bringing engineered designs to life from initial manufacturing through testing and on-site installation at customer locations. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on assembly, fabrication, system integration, and field implementation, providing full participation with assigned projects from A to Z. Periodic travel is an essential component, primarily domestic, allowing you to see systems come to life in real-world applications.

This position is responsible for manufacturing project requirements involving hydraulic power units, hydraulic/electric/pneumatic valve actuation, hydraulic protection systems, and low-voltage electrical control systems; hands-on system assembly and fabrication; shop/factory testing; site installation and check-out support; commissioning; and field service of industrial turbomachinery control systems.

Major Responsibilities



  • Read and interpret technical design documents, such as hydraulic schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, process & instrument diagrams, test procedures, etc. to guide the assembly and test of complex control assemblies
  • Work closely with engineering staff to schedule and execute project manufacturing and test workflows to meet critical deadlines
  • Fabricate custom vessels, piping, bracketry, and fixtures (including mock-up and welding) to integrate new mechanical components into existing machinery and systems
  • Assemble and test mechanical and electrical control system components. Assist with test plan execution, including customer witness tests, to verify the safe and proper functionality of assembled components under live hydraulic and (low-voltage) electric power
  • Maintain good housekeeping and organization of parts, materials, and tools in the shop. Help manage basic store stock and shop organization, including basic shipping/receiving duties
  • Assist QA/QC processes to ensure customer systems meet quality standards after assembly and before shipment
  • Work on turbomachinery control system integration projects for steam, combustion, and hydro turbines for clients in industries such as Commercial Power Generation (Fossil-Fuel, Nuclear, Hydro, Biomass, etc.), Industrial Cogeneration, Oil & Gas (Upstream, Midstream & Downstream), Chemical Processing, etc.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and attention to detail; Flexibility in work environments and schedules; Strong written and oral communication skills, essential to building and maintaining good work and customer relationships
  • The ideal candidate must have a diverse, hands-on technical skill set with the ability to work independently and self-start
  • General administration such as paperwork, copying, printing, scanning, faxing, and using a computer. Also assist with basic, periodic building, vehicle, and equipment maintenance (truck, trailer, forklift, etc.)


Minimum Requirements

Education Applicable Experience in field and fabrication environments. BS Mechanical Engineering or AA in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) may also apply.

Experience 6-12 years of experience in or exposure to the areas below is preferred:



  • Basic to expert understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, piping/tubing principles and practices, fluid flow and piping pressure drop effects, etc.
  • Basic to expert understanding of low-voltage electrical wiring systems and components
  • Safe and proper use of hand, power tools, and fabrication equipment to build, assemble, and test industrial machinery and systems
  • MIG/TIG/Stick welding
  • Experience with stainless steel tube routing, bending, and swaging preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD / Inventor (or similar 3D) design software, preferred, though not required
  • Understanding of auxiliary equipment in an electrical generating or plant environment: turbomachinery, pumps, power transfer linkages (statics/dynamics), etc. preferred, though not required
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 30% (including internationally) to customer sites


Physical Demands of Position Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, climbing (stairs, portable ladders, fixed ladders), pushing, pulling, and ability to mount and dismount equipment.

Working Environment Standard office, basic fabrication shop, and diverse industrial environments. Frequent PC usage, fax machines, copy machines, phones. Knowledge and safe use of typical hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment

The expected salary range is $75,000 - $100,000 per year depending on qualifications plus a discretionary bonus and employee stock program.
