WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Review new product designs and partner with design engineering, planning, production, purchasing, and operations management for integration onto the production floor. Develop cost routings for both new and existing products.
- Promote a safety-first culture through engineering solutions and lead by example.
- Plan and coordinate manufacturing process improvements, including technical training for employees.
- Assess and lead potential equipment purchases, including justification, specifications, and project management.
- Support equipment maintenance programs for machinery (TPM and AM).
- Find opportunities to decrease costs by minimizing scrap, exploring material options, and improving efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement with Lean principles to improve quality, reduce costs, and boost productivity.
- Design new workflows, processes, and shop floor layouts, including automation and digitization.
- Collaborate across functions on new product development and implement continuous improvement projects as needed.
- Travel required on an as needed basis to support production improvements and project requirements.
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering field, required.
- Ideally 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Thorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.
- ISO 9001 / Quality Management System experience, preferred.
- Project management experience is helpful.
- AutoCAD skills required, SolidWorks skills preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
