Job Title:- Telecommunications Engineering and Construction Supervisor

Location:- Spring Texas (On-Site)

Job Type:- Long Term Contract

Job Description:



  • The Senior Telecommunications Engineer coordinates and directs all telecommunications-related engineering, design, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities on global projects.
  • This role oversees the EPC contractor/subcontractor for telecom scope, ensuring cost-effective designs that meet project requirements within budget and schedule.
  • The engineer ensures compliance with technical specifications, coordinates interfaces, and resolves technical issues related to telecommunications systems.
  • With deep expertise in the telecom discipline, this technical leader provides guidance to teams, functional organizations, and mentees, influencing projects and business units to improve decision-making and work processes.



Responsibilities:



  • Provide Telecommunications engineering expertise and oversight, including transport systems (subsea/terrestrial fiber optics, microwave, VSAT).
  • Supervise construction and commissioning teams, ensuring compliance with hazardous area requirements (Class I, II, III / Division I, II / EXd, EXi, Exe / ATX zones).
  • Manage design, installation, and financial aspects of infrastructure projects, including telecom towers, antennas, and radio systems (VHF, MF, UHF).
  • Offer technical consultation, quality assurance, and guide contractors on telecommunications requirements, including voice systems, PAGA, CCTV, and access control.
  • Mentor junior engineers, lead teams in resolving technical challenges, and share knowledge.
  • Review technical specifications, procurement packages, and vendor data for LAN/WAN/switches/routers.
  • Coordinate interface requirements with various teams and liaise with project management and contractors.
  • Monitor contractor activities, compliance, and prepare technical specifications.
  • Assist in procurement, bid evaluations, and develop installation, testing, and maintenance plans.
  • Maintain weight and electrical load control reports.
  • Resolve design-related issues, interfaces, and advise on emerging issues within telecommunications design.
  • Conduct briefings, provide input for project reporting, and evaluate contractor queries and change requests.
  • Participate in plant checkout, start-up, and review lessons learned for project applicability.
  • Manage delivery schedules, milestones, and collaborate on execution plans to ensure quality control.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to non-routine problems, expanding influence beyond core technical disciplines and demonstrating the ability to influence without direct authority.



Required Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, And Experiences



  • Strong project management skills in design, implementation, personnel planning, and economic analysis/evaluation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred; other degrees such as MIS considered based on experience.
  • Excellent organization, team building, leadership, project planning, and communication skills.
  • Current knowledge of telecommunications and computing systems.
  • Analytical skills to make accurate and effective design decisions in complex situations.
  • In-depth understanding of:



    • Transport systems (subsea/terrestrial fiber optics, microwave, VSAT)
    • Telecom towers and antennas
    • Radio systems (VHF, MF, UHF)
    • Voice systems
    • Public Address/General Alarm (PAGA)
    • CCTV and access control
    • LAN/WAN/switches/routers
    • Hazardous area requirements (Class I, II, III / Division I, II / EXd, EXi, Exe / ATX zones)



  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects within short timeframes.
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience, including a project engineering role in large, similar projects.
