Statement of Purpose
The Chief Information Officer is accountable for developing, planning, and implementing an information technology (IT) strategy that meets the company's business needs, delivers optimal service to both internal and external customers, and maintains utmost security. Oversees information and data integrity of the enterprise systems and for Information Technology functions of the organization. This includes maintenance and support, project management, application development, and implementation of data centers, help desks, communication networks (voice and data), and enterprise systems. The Chief Information Officer is responsible for oversight over the integrity of records, the design and implementation of the strategic direction, and all appropriate communications.
Responsibility for the Work of Others
Directly supervise information technology and enterprise application teams. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; implementing performance management program; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Collaborates with members of the executive team to identify ways IT can assist the organization in achieving business and financial goals.
- Proactively identifies new and innovative technologies to streamline, enhance, or eliminate existing business processes.
- Conducts studies/analyses to identify new Information Security (IS) solutions and how they apply to the organizational environment.
- Ensures that IT and network infrastructure adequately support the company's computing, data processing, and communications needs, and ensures all software and hardware are up to date with publisher or manufacture specifications.
- Develops and implements the IT budget.
- Communicates goals, projects, and timelines of the company to the department; plans ways to execute those goals within the department.
- Ensures compliance with government regulations that apply to systems operations.

Education, Training & Skills
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Computer Science or a related field is required.
- An MBA with an emphasis in technology management or equivalent experience is required.
- A Project Management (PMP); or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt; or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Time management skills are required.
- Ability to achieve results through others is required.
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, organization development, change management, and budgeting are required.
- Strategic ability to plan over a 36-month period is required.

Experience
- 15 years' relevant business experience
- 10 years managing an IT or IS department.
- 10 years leading business teams
- 10 years of active collaboration with senior executives
- 10 years of medium-to-large system development and implementation
Travel
- Limited - approximately four out of town trips per year.
