Summary:

The Director of Network and Telecommunications Engineering role is a key leader of the existing Platforms, Infrastructure and Cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will lead the design, execution, and support of the current and future network environment including Routing and Switching, Network Security, Wide-Area-Networking, and Remote Access capabilities. In addition, they will be responsible for defining the architectural standards and design principles for network engineering. They will lead technical initiatives for next-gen networking solutions including Public Cloud networking (preferably Aviatrix) and SD-WAN in supporting the future state of the ABG's Network infrastructure.

The position requires the candidate to be a hands-on technical leader who is instrumental in driving digital transformation initiatives, aligning network strategies with evolving business need and fostering innovation in a hybrid cloud environment. The candidate will lead a large global team of engineers

What you'll do:

  • Lead the Network Infrastructure Engineering and Telecommunications Teams
  • Lead network architectural standards and design principles
  • Perform Network design & implementation for an enterprise level infrastructure
  • Provide Tier 3 level technical support during critical network outages
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g. PCI-DSS, SOC2, ISO 27001)
  • Implement and manage network documentation and governance standards
  • Create and maintain Infrastructure disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Administer and manage Firewall policy and change management process
  • Develop and manage operational and capital budgets for Infrastructure team
  • Establish KPIs for infrastructure performance, availability and uptime
  • Perform network capacity management to ensure optimal performance of our routing and switch platforms as well as WAN circuits
  • Maintain vendor relationships and participate in contract negotiations to optimize costs and ensure services align with current and future technology requirements
  • Configure and support connectivity to Cloud providers, as well as the virtual networking construct within the Cloud platform
  • Proficient in ITSM standards, influence and drive continuous improvement strategy
  • Assist in Network equipment (H/W & S/W) life- cycle management
  • Plan and execute Network technology refresh based on EOL/tech debt reduction
  • Work closely with Project teams in the planning and execution of projects requiring network support
  • Coach mentor and grow team members to build a high performing network engineering team
  • Analyze network Security vulnerabilities and close gaps as necessary

You should apply if you bring:

  • Ability to engage, lead and manage global Infrastructure teams
  • Create and deliver global network strategy to include SD-WAN
  • Highly skilled in Network Routing & Switching, with experience in BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing protocols
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Experience with observability platforms (e.g. Datadog)
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust security frameworks secure access service edge (SASE)
  • Ability to lead network architectural initiatives, design principles, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform solution designs within a hybrid network environment (On-prem and Public Cloud)
  • Proven ability to implement complex network designs in a production environment with minimal impact
  • Superb knowledge/experience with WAN technologies including MPLS and private Fiber Optic transit networks
  • Expertise in network fault analysis and troubleshooting
  • Advanced knowledge in Firewall deployment and management
  • Solid understanding of network and cloud security fundamentals
  • The ideal candidate should be strategic, self-motivated, and influential in leading network engineering teams and discussions
  • Experience in managing VoIP systems and Unified Communication a plus
  • AWS certifications is a plus
  • Network Automation/Scripting skills is a plus
  • Public Cloud networking experience a plus
