What we need...

The Network Architect is responsible for the overall design, implementation, and maintenance of COCC's enterprise-level network architecture, providing technical leadership to develop innovative, secure, scalable, and reliable network solutions. This role actively engages in troubleshooting complex network issues to ensure optimal network performance and stability. The architect collaborates closely with internal IT teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to align network solutions with business objectives and serves as a subject matter expert (SME) across multiple network platforms, ensuring technical excellence in complex, multi-platform environments. Key tasks include network design, configuration, monitoring, and optimization, as well as maintaining documentation and staying updated on networking advancements.

What you'll do...



  • Design scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions aligned with company objectives and industry best practices.
  • Lead network infrastructure implementation projects, including deployment, configuration, and testing of network hardware and software solutions.
  • Proactively monitor network performance; troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues to ensure business continuity.
  • Act as a subject matter expert across multiple key network platforms (e.g., Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, Velocloud SD-WAN, Arista, Linux-based appliances).
  • Conduct ongoing network performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network architectures, configurations, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure compliance with company security policies and industry standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior network team members.
  • Stay current on emerging networking technologies and trends; proactively recommend improvements and enhancements.


What you'll bring...



  • Master's degree or equivalent work is preferred for this role but will consider appropriate work experience and/or relevant certifications
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in network engineering, architecture, or related technical roles.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-level network infrastructures.
  • Industry-recognized certifications preferred (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructure within a security focused environment
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF.
  • Hands-on expertise in networking technologies, including Arista, Cisco ACI, Velocloud SDWAN, and VMware NSX.
  • Proficiency with Linux based network appliances
  • Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) to streamline network management tasks.
  • Proficient in monitoring and performance optimization tools (e.g., Grafana, Splunk).
  • Experience with cloud-based networking in Azure and/or AWS, including virtual network design, hybrid connectivity (VPN/ExpressRoute/Direct Connect), and integration with on-prem infrastructure
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across a wide array of technologies.
  • Strong documentation skills for maintaining network configurations, processes, and procedures.
