The Security Engineers work closely with Project Managers, Risk Management and Cybersecurity Operations team to provide architecture design and implementation services. They intake functional & nonfunctional requirements; evaluate various solution or design options, document solution blueprint, and implementation steps. They ensure that the solution implemented meets our security standards and regulatory requirements. The Cybersecurity team consists of security professionals in their chosen disciplines, including:
Working together, we review the current cyber threat landscape and lend our expertise to help the company understand its security posture and act on the highest priority risks. The Cybersecurity team takes a proactive approach to security by focusing on the cyber risks PG&E faces. Our methodology and framework synthesize current legal, regulatory, and operating mandates with PG&E's business goals and operations. Position Summary The Expert Cyber Security Architect, Leads all technical aspects within the Data Security Technology Domain projects. The Expert Architect uses expertise in multiple technical areas to document security domain strategies, and technology solutions to meet the business needs of PG&E. The technical documents ensure requirements are met in an efficient, sustainable, and adaptable manner. This position will operate across organizational and computing areas driving efficient, standards-based architecture supporting PG&E business goals. The successful candidate will deliver a domain strategy that can be leveraged over a span of 5+ years, solution blueprints that include the conceptual, logical, and physical layers of the process, application, information, integration, security, and infrastructure views of the architecture. Partnering with Cybersecurity Project and Program Managers. The position in the primary technical decision maker on strategies and projects as they relate to Data Security. Explore and integrate emerging cybersecurity technologies to enhance PG&E's Data Security Framework and proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect PG&E's critical assets. This position will have accountability and responsibility for solutions that are of complex scope and with significant risk and high impact across multiple functions. They work autonomously, addressing complex problems that span functions and may manage projects or initiatives that are high complexity and risk. Architects provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to non-architect technical staff of lesser experience, utilizing NIST, CIS Controls to develop and implement robust Data Security Roadmaps and Strategies that align with PG&E'S business goals. The position will be a Hybrid work environment, requiring the Architect to be within the PG&E service territory, the work location is flexible and there will be occasional (approximately once per week, or more depending on business need) travel to/from Sacramento, San Ramon, or Oakland offices. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
