Insituform Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Robotics Technician.

Insituform Technologies, Inc., is a leading worldwide provider of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and other technologies and services for the rehabilitation of pipeline systems. Insituform's businesses consist of sewer, drinking water, and energy and mining pipeline rehabilitation and protection. The company provides cost-effective solutions to remediate operational, health, regulatory and environmental problems resulting from aging and defective pipelines. Insituform's technologies allow its customers to avoid the extraordinary expense and extreme disruption that can result from traditional "dig and replace" methods.

Responsibilities:

The robotics repair tech will be responsible for repairing various robotic equipment utilizing prints and wiring diagrams, completing, and submitting shop repair orders, rework, miscellaneous sheets to update individual utilization reports on a daily basis or as required, and maintain inventory levels of repair stock (e.g., bearings, seals, gears, etc.). The repair tech will be responsible for fielding calls from crews to support robotic or equipment repairs.

Primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Mechanically and electronically repairs robotic equipment.

  • Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.

  • Directly supports field crews in troubleshooting robotics and equipment

  • Completes and submits shop repair orders, rework, miscellaneous sheets to update individual utilization reports on a daily basis. Requires basic computer skills.

  • Communicates the work schedule to the customer as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Diploma from a technical school in robotics or electronics is preferred.

  • Three to five years hands on experience in electronics and electrical troubleshooting is required

  • Must possess a working knowledge of electrical repair methods and equipment to include soldering equipment, electrical meters, power supplies

  • Other equipmentknowledge will include, milling & drilling machines, metal lathe, sanders/grinders, power punch press, and various power hand tools, drills, etc.

  • Skilled with lathes, grinders, drill presses, and some welding

  • Basic computer skills are required

  • Ability to read, analyze interpret and understand and follow electrical wiring diagrams and schematics, blueprints, and fabrication drawings

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Must be able to use independent judgment and initiative to complete projects on a timely and safe basis

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear

  • Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and taste or smell

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

  • Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability for extended concentration.

Work Environment:

  • In performing the duties for this job, the employee will generally work in a shop environment (with moving vehicles and mechanical operations). Will be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate. Travel by automobile and airplane required.
