Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager, Healthcare PMO provides project management and direction for medium, enterprise, complex projects, and/or large-scale implementations for UI Health activities which benefit all or significant parts of the Hospital & Clinics. Manage all aspects of project life cycle to facilitate the successful and timely delivery of key multi-faceted business processes, such as site transitions, centralization, or process improvements that involve multiple located business partners. Influence the work of others outside of direct authority to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify, analyze and recommend business systems/process solutions and future opportunities to Information Services (IS) management that have broad business impact.
  • Manage the definition, design, and implementation of medium, enterprise, and/or complex projects for improved healthcare business services and products.
  • Develop, plan and track detailed project plans, including schedules, cost estimates, resource needs, funding requirements, communication plans, RIDAC, and implementation strategies.
  • Identify project stakeholders, Steering Committee and other participants; manage two-way communications with participants and engage stakeholders in key decisions
  • Ability to identify and build strong project teams and effective relationships, and provide leadership to a variety of stakeholder groups, without having direct authority
  • Assemble cross-functional integration teams and assign individual responsibilities. Provide project leadership, work direction, and feedback to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met. Coach and train project team members on project management processes and best practices. Mentor other project managers. Oversee work output of project team members; collaborate with the resource managers directly managing team members as needed.
  • Communicate and report status to executives, business partners and other stakeholders. Deliver formal presentations to senior management on recommendations and project status updates.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including C-suite executives
  • Capability to be an independent and critical thinker who can translate abstract concepts into actions that move the business forward
  • Excellent troubleshooting and escalation skills, with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in duties and volume of work
  • Train, mentor, and oversee work of newly hired IS PMO Project Managers, IS non-PMO Project Managers, contracted project managers, and ensure their awareness to adhere to the IS PM methodology, standards, and expectations
  • Work closely with the PMO Director to understand the PAPP (Project Appraisal and Prioritization Process) process. Lead the discovery efforts for IS PAPP Demands. Develop metrics for reporting the business case. Assist with defining the cost benefit analysis for a proforma related to health care/business processes.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Project Management, HealthCare Industry or related field is required
  • PMP and Agile certification required
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience, with 7 years as a project manager, progressive management responsibility, and experience working in a healthcare organization or managing enterprise-wide, cross-functional projects required.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Project Management or MBA are preferred
  • Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certifications, or equivalent certification for Agile and Scrum Master preferred
  • In depth knowledge of health care processes and interdependencies; knowledge of PMBOK project management methodology and tools.
  • Business acumen with advanced level of understanding systems and their relation to business processes.
  • Advanced ability to create work break down structure diagrams, RIDAC plans, stakeholder analyses, communication, plans, and complex program/project plans.
  • Detail-oriented business analysis skills, problem solving and project management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on, assertive, and proactive management to meet timelines.
  • Advanced change management skills and a high level of emotional intelligence and integrity.
  • Exposure to both waterfall and agile project management experience, and the ability to flexibly leverage the two disciplines as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office products such as Teams, and OneNote. MS Project, ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), or other PPM tool experience preferred.
