Purchasing Manager- Renton, WA

Perform daily management tasks associated with food and ingredient warehousing and logistic operations for Fresh & Ready Food Group. Manage the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and On-Time dispatch and delivery of food products. Work collaboratively with Quality Assurance, Production, team members to guarantee customer satisfaction and to meet daily, weekly and monthly productions goals. Manager will plan, coordinate and manage all activities related to procurement of materials for the organization's operational and production needs including all processes from beginning with intent to purchase, through delivery.

Responsibilities
* "Hands-On" commitment to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Warehouse/Purchasing Department.
* Plan, manage, and maintain layout of stockrooms, warehouse, and storage areas (freezers, refrigerators/coolers).
* Prepare employee work schedules; schedule and oversees work for special and periodic inventories.
* Design and implement workflow and procedures; adjust as needed for continuous improvement and productivity.
* Advises staff on care and preservation of food and ingredient items received including all perishables, stored and shipped according to safety and sanitation specifications.
* Ensure staff is train on the correct use of industrial equipment; including industrial counterbalance forklifts, manual and electric pallet jacks, and pallet wrap machines.
* Access and standardize procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
* Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
* Maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure good, reliable sources of supply and information.
* Ensure thorough and complete tracking and recording of inventory records to provide accurate accounting of all purchased food products and ingredients.
* Comply and enter information into electronic systems and prepare reports when necessary.
* Develop, implement and/or improve Purchasing policies, communications, documentation and procedures.
* Track purchased material to verify items are received per the expected date.
* Perform a variety of administrative functions such as preparing and updating reports, records, and related documents.
* Directs and oversees negotiations with best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.
* Ensure that all items received meet the quality requirements, standards, and specifications

Qualifications:

* Minimum of two to five years of purchasing/warehouse experience preferred, depending upon formal degree or training
* P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable
* Excellent analytical and reporting skills (must be proficient with Excel) Excellent time management skills
* Knowledge of food industry and/or purchasing strongly preferred.
* Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, Email and the Internet
