Corporate Facilities Technicians are responsible for performing various types of maintenance and upkeep at Rumpke ("Company") owned, operated, rented, and/or leased properties. This position performs skilled painting, masonry, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, drywall, concrete, and related repair and maintenance on all Company property, structures, and equipment. Ability to travel to all of Rumpke's facilities and overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities of Position:



  • Perform skilled construction, maintenance, and repair on Company property, buildings, and equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and Company policies.
  • Conduct facilities inspections for both commercial and residential properties, utilizing inspection software to generate detailed reports.
  • Perform preventive maintenance per schedule or as directed.
  • Contact outside vendors for repairs as directed by the manager.
  • Assist/perform in repairs of plumbing, construction, and HVAC as needed.
  • Operate various hand-held manual, electrical and gas-powered tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain and ensure the safe operating condition of assigned equipment and tools according to Company policies and OSHA.
  • Recognize and repair any detected deterioration, repair, and/or maintenance needs.
  • Snow removal and salt application to driveways, walkways, and parking lots of Rumpke facilities.
  • Assist with the planning, estimating, and coordination of more complex tasks.
  • Assist in supporting the safety and physical integrity of property, structures, facilities, and equipment.
  • Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Applies for and obtains permits for building projects, as required.
  • Maintain accurate records (work orders, materials/supplies usage, cost estimates, labor time, maintenance logs, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.



Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:



  • All training and in house certifications will be provided by Rumpke.
  • Ability to self-manage and perform essential duties beyond satisfaction
  • Ability to safely perform building maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.



Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:



  • Knowledge of carpentry, drywall, concrete, plumbing, maintenance, painting, mechanical, and general building repair.
  • Experience working with various hand tools and equipment.
  • Minimum 3+ years performing building repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience with grounds maintenance.
  • Experience in SAP is a plus.



Physical Requirements in a Regular workday:



  • Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50lbs. Rarely up to 100lbs.
  • Frequently working outside in changing temperature, wet/humid conditions.
  • Frequently working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, other airborne matter.
  • Frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling.
  • Frequently sitting/standing/walking.



Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:



  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable).
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
