Summary University of Vermont Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiovascular Critical Care team at the University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC). The Cardiovascular Critical Care NP/PA will manage a caseload of critically ill patients with cardiovascular conditions in a high acuity setting. They will exercise autonomous decision-making in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical treatments. The scope of practice includes daily management as the primary team, discharge planning, patient education, staff education, and research/QI initiatives. The APP will utilize advanced practice skills including advanced levels of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including intensivists, cardiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. Schedule This is a 1.0 FTE full-time position that will be scheduled to work 12-hour shifts (7am to 7pm) within a team that provides CV ICU coverage seven days a week (inclusive of weekends and holidays). Overnight coverage is currently provided by attendings and residents, but there is an expectation that as service needs grow night or swing shifts for APPs may be introduced in the future. Experience
