Position Summary:
The Associate Director, GMA Training will work closely with the Senior Director, GMA Training to develop and implement an industry-leading medical affairs training and scientific education program for Travere. This individual will create, deliver, and facilitate field-specific and product training, as well as interface with the field medical organization along with various other functions within Travere to ensure the scientific medical training activities are structured to enable the achievement of medical affairs strategy and objectives.

Primary responsibilities will include conducting learning needs assessments, creating, delivering, and coordinating field medical new hire onboarding curriculum training, advanced training, certification program, and ongoing skills training. Deliverables will include content development such as onboarding and continuous education training materials, quick reference materials, etc. There is also an expectation to leverage a variety of communication channels to meet the needs of different adult learning styles as well as drive continuous improvement of training curriculum.

Responsibilities:
* Develop an expert level of scientific acumen of our rare disease therapeutic areas and pipeline products.
* Responsible for the creation and/or refinement, delivery, and implementation of the Travere GMA Onboarding Curriculum for our current and pipeline products.
* Partner and gain alignment with the Therapeutic Area Leads and Field Medical leadership to determine learning gaps in scientific content, product knowledge and skills, then implement necessary trainings.
* Responsible for training of Medical Affairs new hires as well as ongoing scientific training needs related to new data, emerging products, and field tools.
* Support ongoing learning programs for the Field Team to develop field competencies and skills with support of training and field team leadership.
* Collaborate with cross functional partners in order to build and execute training for offsite meetings.
* Responsible for the development of classroom training programs, and eLearning/mobile Learning modules.
* Build and implement post-training tools to analyze training effectiveness and work with cross functional teams to continually improve training curriculum to meet organizational needs.
* Maintain a digital learning platform (learning management system) and the training resources libraries.
* Establish and implement certifications and key metrics to track and communicate value and impact of learning initiatives to internal stakeholders.
* Select, develop, and manage relationships with vendors/partners.
* Manage simultaneous learning projects and meet deadlines, with the ability to build learning content and collaborate on content reuse across multiple stakeholders.

Education/Experience Requirements:
* PharmD, Ph.D., PA, or NP in medical biosciences. Advanced clinical degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
* Minimum 4+ years industry Medical Affairs experience and/or minimum 2 years as a Medical Science Liaison.
* Prior training experience is strongly preferred and experience in delivering training in multiple learning platforms (workshop, virtual, e-learning, simulation) is also preferred.
* Nephrology and/or rare disease experience is strongly preferred.

Additional Skills/Experience/Requirements:
* Strong collaboration, communication, partnering, and experience in leading without authority is preferred.
* Ability to work independently with minimal day to day supervision.
* Ability to motivate and teach team members without a direct reporting relationship.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).
* Ability to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally.
* All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego. No role is expected to be 100% remote.

Compensation: Our competitive compensation package includes a combination of both cash compensation (base pay and short-term incentive) and long-term incentive compensation (company stock), designed to recognize, retain, and reward employees.

Target Base Pay Range:

$146,000.00 - $190,000.00
