Overview

This position will assist with Global Minimum Tax (GMT) system implementation and GMT compliance. This position will assist in the management of Lam's quarterly and year-end foreign provision for income taxes required under ASC 740 as well as the U.S. federal income tax return with a focus on international reporting. This position will also assist with the management of worldwide tax compliance, worldwide income tax audits, and various tax planning initiatives and business support projects. The position will report to the Senior Director, Tax in the United States and work closely with other members of the finance organization and the tax department.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with GMT system implementation and GMT compliance globally
  • Assist with digital transformation initiatives with a focus on international tax and transfer price areas
  • Assist with management of quarterly and year-end tax reporting analysis including but not limited to reviewing/preparing foreign tax provision, reviewing/preparing international tax calculations (e.g. GILTI, Subpart F), reviewing journal entries, reviewing foreign income tax payable analysis, and communicating with foreign business units as needed
  • Assist with management of foreign income tax return filings and provision to return true-ups
  • Review/prepare U.S. based international reporting forms including 5471s, 8858s, 8865s, 1118 and other related forms including statements and elections. This would include assisting with annual calculations of E&P and tax pool, analyzing financial statements for completeness, and assisting with OneSource Income Tax maintenance as needed
  • Assist with audits by worldwide tax authorities
  • Assist in international acquisitions/reorganizations as needed and assist in variance tax planning initiatives and business support projects
  • Perform tax research and prepare related documentation for worldwide tax positions
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7+ years of public accounting firm or corporate tax experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or the equivalent
  • MST and/or a CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and tax accounting principles
  • Solid knowledge of tax laws
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills in English - both oral and written
  • Strong proficiency in tax research tools
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Experience with SAP system is a plus
  • Must have strong ethics and values and have the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must have intermediate level computer skills or must be able to learn new software quickly (SAP, OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision, Alteryx, etc.)

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $132,000.00 -$244,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
