COMPENSATION: $65,000 - $75,000 annually

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of Area Region Manager, generates profitable sales in the assigned territory through target marketing, competitive analysis, and providing value-added agronomic products, services, and recommendations. Oversees the operations of the assigned location including scheduling, logistics, and product handling. Ensures the credit worthiness of customers and promotes the company's Credit programs as marketing tools.

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

Supervises, leads, and develops all full-time and part-time employees required to operate the facility. Trains employees to meet state, federal, and company regulatory and safety criteria

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and implements marketing plans and sales strategies that generate profitable sales in the assigned territory.
  • Utilizes target marketing and professional sales techniques when calling on regular and prospective growers based on prospective customer lists from the company's sales history, government offices, and other sources.
  • Develops competitive analysis to maintain a current knowledge of the marketplace and the competition.
  • Provides value-added agronomic products, services, and recommendations to growers. Conducts regular grower meetings on product and technical information. Provides customer service by using soil testing, crop scouting and other programs, follows up on customer complaints, and seeks a reasonable "win/win" resolution.
  • Responsible for product ordering, profitable pricing, inventory control, and shipping/receiving of product. Schedules product delivery and oversees product application. Responsible for the maintenance and appearance of equipment and facilities.
  • Ensures the credit worthiness of customers, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. Promotes the use of the company's Credit programs as a sales tool and helps provide the required information to establish credit. Works closely with the credit department in collection of accounts receivable.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards, adheres to the company Uniform Policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.
  • Ensures FS field signs are displayed on all customers' fields to promote company products.
  • Serves on the location Safety Committee and adheres to the company environmental health and safety policies and training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Normally requires a college degree in agriculture, marketing, or other business related discipline and sales/marketing experience to demonstrate the ability to generate profitable sales in the assigned territory.
  • Understanding of all agronomic product lines along with sales ability/persuasiveness, face-to-face selling skills, assertiveness, tenacity/persistence, resilience, competitive adeptness, inventory development and management, credit worthiness, and product proficiency.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience including hiring, orientation, coaching, counseling, performance evaluations, and training and development, etc. and the ability to get work done through others.
  • Proven team building skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven professional communication, persuasion, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.
  • Demonstrated core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel independently and overnight as needed.
