National Grid is hiring a Senior Analyst for our NY Gas Performance and Strategy department in the following locations: Syracuse NY, Brooklyn NY, Albany NY, Buffalo NY, or Melville NY.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Director, Program Management, this key role will provide insightful data analysis and interpretation to supportthe Program Management Team with cross-functional work related to the company's efficiency and financial targets. This key individual will need to understand the business drivers that impact end-to-end processes, including financial, regulatory, operational, capital, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and foster a culture of innovation to supportthe company's financial targets, advising leadership and the wider business to understand the impact of existing policies and processes
  • Work with leadership team to identify improvement opportunities to increase operational efficiency
  • Monitor and report on the performance of implemented processes
  • Advocate outcomes and recommendations to cross functional audiences through written reports and oral presentations.
  • Interface with process and functional leaders to provide analytical supportand insight to help deliver on:
  1. Financial results consistent with defined targets
  2. Operational productivity performance focused on all aspects of the Gas Business
  3. Enterprise-wide unit costing analytics
  • Assist the Director and Project Managers in the overall delivery of process performance and help to coordinate across the matrixedsupportportions of the organization.
  • Cultivate successful working relationships with respective colleagues to ensure consistent operational performance supportespecially in key areas such as Operations, Engineering, and Finance.
Knowledge & Experience Preferred:
  • Process management experience
  • Experience with leadership and engagement skills
  • Knowledge of relevant industry practice and current trends within the industry.
  • Financial background
  • Knowledge of gas utility operations
  • Operational and strategic experience in one or more disciplines in an electric/gas utility
Qualifications
  • Strong experience in MS Office tools and Power BI (PowerApps and Power Automate preferred).
  • Understanding of Python/R/SQL and experience with Alteryx, Tableau, VBA, and other common languages/applications is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering with an Advanced business degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of work experience in Analytics
  • Strong statistical competence (such as regression modeling, a/b testing, significance testing etc.) as well as skills in forecasting and time series
  • Experience performing analysis with large datasets

Upstate NY Salary:$92,000 - $108,000 a year

Downstate NY Salary: $111,000 - $130,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.

Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company's testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
