ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Manager, Team Lead Category & Shopper Insights - Walmart, you will be responsible for cultivating and maintain deep and broad relationships at Walmart, navigating change, establishing trust, resolving issues, and driving collaboration. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional and external partners to drive profitable growth for both the customer and the organization. This position will require you to provide fact-based and insights-driven solutions to drive growth for the category, customer, and company along with having a comprehensive understanding of products, assortment, pricing, placement, shelving, promotion, and merchandising.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Management and Development: Lead and develop a diverse team of Category & Shopper Leadership Managers across multiple departments and categories. Set and achieve key objectives to drive business growth. Coach the team in creating fact-based insights and recommendations through storytelling to help guide retailer category decisions

  • Retailer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary liaison for the team, fostering and maintaining strong, strategic relationships with retailers. Navigate complex changes, build and sustain trust, resolve issues proactively, and drive collaborative initiatives that align with both retailer and organizational goals

  • Efficiency Optimization: Continuously identify and implement strategies to streamline team operations and enhance productivity. Develop and refine processes to manage day-to-day responsibilities more effectively, ensuring the team operates at peak efficiency

  • Thought Leadership: Stay informed on industry trends, future disruptors, and white space opportunities across our categories. Monitor and understand technical advancements, including data analytics and new market capabilities, to drive innovation and continuous improvement

  • Digital Ecommerce Strategy: Partner strategically with Walmart to enhance the online shopper experience. Identify key insights about the OPD shopper and provide recommendations to better serve this segment and drive digital penetration

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of Commercial or relevant Sales experience or Advanced Degree and 5+ years of Commercial or relevant Sales experience

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Advanced proficiency in AOD/IRI, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and space management software (JDA Space Planning and/or Apollo)

  • Strong ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data to uncover observations, insights, and key learnings. Develop retailer-specific strategic and tactical recommendations and solutions

  • Preferred experience in managing the end-to-end relay process

  • Excellent knowledge of category management principles and practices

  • Confidence in presenting to Walmart Merchants, DMMs, and other stakeholders

  • Passionate about leading and developing others, providing timely, constructive, and empathetic feedback, navigating different personality types and preferences, and aligning personal/team goals with organizational objectives

  • 2+ years of people management experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Category Management or Shopper Insights

  • Robust knowledge of Walmart's internal category management processes

  • Ability to identify next-generation category tools to better understand the retailer shopper and unlock category growth

  • Experience working with syndicated data software (e.g., IRI or Nielsen) and JDA

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Full-time onsite position in Rogers, AR office, core hours: 9 - 3

  • 10% travel

  • Role is not eligible for relocation

  • Remote work available once per week for eligible employees
