Department Summary The University of North Texas at Dallas is committed to providing student-athletes an exceptional collegiate athletic experience. Position Overview The Head Women's Basketball Coach will be tasked with evolving the institutions women's basketball program. As such the Head Coach will be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, coaching and leading 12-15 student athletes who will represent the university and its mission. In addition to the student athletes and their families, constituencies will include university faculty, staff, students and alumni; both the NAIA and the conference to which UNTD belongs; other women's basketball coaches and administrators locally, regionally and nationally; and the community at large. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Coaching at the high school and/or AAU and/or intercollegiate and/or professional level. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young people, preparing them for success in life as well as on the court. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. A strong public service orientation to work well with faculty, staff, students, and the community. Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Strong computer skills. Skilled in budget preparation. Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast paced environment. Ability to stay abreast of current and developing trends (video, voice, data, and computing technologies). Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change Preferred Qualifications Masters degree with at least 3 years of experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified. Knowledge of and/or contacts within the North Texas area high school and/or AAU basketball community. Successful career playing basketball at the collegiate and/or professional level.
