Job Description

The Business Office Technician, under general supervision, performs accounting work related to the US accounts payable function of accounts payable. Responsibilities can also include but are not limited to creating purchase orders, maintaining files and assisting employees with purchasing questions and procedures.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices and payments in accordance with Company standards and procedures.

  • Maintain vendor information in Accounting system.

  • Maintain 1099 file. Process year-end reports as necessary.

  • Administer the Company's Visa Purchasing Card program.

  • Reconcile and maintain accounts payable balance sheet.

  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field to uphold responsibilities as subject matter expert.

  • Works with company storekeepers to address any JDE procedure questions and assist with any issues related to the material received (includes but is not limited to shipment delays, damaged items, shortages/overages etc.)

  • Administers the office supply program.

  • Participate in Company training as required.

  • Completes any additional duties as needed or requested by the Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).

  • Minimum of two to four years of related work experience.

Skill Requirement(s):

  • Excellent written, oral, and listening skills.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and judgment skills with the ability to confidentially process and maintain data.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn new systems or software packages as necessary.

  • Accounting computer programs experience is a plus.

  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with co-workers, customers and management.

  • Must maintain a safe environment for co-workers, customers and the public through adherence to established safety standards and timely reporting of potential hazards.

  • Must adhere to Company policies and procedures related to the code of business ethics, compliance, responsible use of Company assets, and all applicable state and federal laws

Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves sitting at a desk and operating personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Duties may also involve occasional bending, stooping and lifting of up to 25 lbs. unassisted. Occasional travel to various worksites may also be required, depending on assignment.

We offer a competitive salary range of $48,000 to $69,750 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
