Overview

A Striping Laborer, specializes in striping installation. Their duties include assisting with the completion of striping and then finishing it using various tools. This is an entry-level position, but to be successful one should have excellent physical stamina and enjoy working with their hands. Striping Laborers follow directions to assist in the striping installation and meet project specifications, clean and maintain tools and equipment used, clean up and spot check work area and maintain safety standards at all times.



Responsibilities

    Production and Assistance
    • Striping Laborer will assist team lead or foreman with daily preparation of required materials and equipment prior to leaving for job site. May be asked to transport equipment and materials to job site using company vehicle.
    • Responsible for loading and unloading equipment, such as striping machines, five gallon buckets of paint, stencils and other striping materials at job site .
    • Organization, tracking and cleaning of stencils used daily at various job sites.
    • Assist team lead and foreman with snapping chalk lines for striping layouts at each job site.
    • Ability to follow guidance by team lead or foreman to ensure timely completion of jobs.
    • Return any equipment and materials back to yard upon completion of job.
  • Safety and Equipment Maintenance
    • Clean and prepare job-site to eliminate possible hazards for crew and public safety prior to beginning work at job site.
    • Striping Laborers are expected to do their part in preventing accidents by cleaning up the work environment, equipment and tools. Be mindful of their actions, and wearing appropriate safety gear such as hard hats and reflective vests.
    • Proper usage of all equipment and materials, including but not limited to striping machines, trailers, paint and stencils.
    • Verify equipment is in proper working order and report any equipment issues to team lead/foreman.
    • Routinely clean equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition and meets acceptable appearance standards.


Qualifications

  • Striping Laborers should have minimum experience working on a construction team to complete complex projects.
  • General knowledge of striping tools and production including used on site including stencils, striping machine, and striping terms.
  • Ability to follow direction, willing to train and work in a team environment.
  • Stamina to meet demanding schedules, frequent long hours including nights, weekends and occasional Holidays.
  • Must be available to work overtime as required.
  • Some out-of-state travel may be required.
