Job Description
The Director-Cardiac Interventional Services is responsible for the clinical and business operations of all CVCL locations and services and is responsible for overseeing, supervising and administrating all laboratory activities in accordance with established hospital and department policies and standards. This position ensures each department is compliant with all applicable regulatory guidelines, employs evidence-based best practices for clinical and operational performance and promotes exceptional care for optimum patient experience outcomes. This position oversees and participates in the selection, training and development of departmental coordinators, managers and team members at all locations and ensures fiscal accountability, quality and regulatory compliance, federal and state licensure requirements and positive employee, physician and customer relations. Additional priorities include but are not limited to interdepartmental collaboration, program and equipment management and oversight, financial management, capital and operational budget preparation oversight and compliance, departmental expansion and growth, new technology integration, new product/service and equipment deployment, electronic and other medical record and image management.
Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, and directs department operations. Develops goals and objectives, establishes and implements policies and procedures for department/program operation.
- Reviews department performance, effects changes as needed to improve services provided and assure compliance with both hospital guidelines and regulatory requirements, and keeps administration informed of department operations, needs and problems.
- Introduces and demonstrates new procedures, programs and equipment to the team members. Plans and conducts meetings and discussions with both administration and team members to encourage participation in formulating departmental policies, promote initiative, solve problems, and to interpret new regulations and procedures
- Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization's overall mission.
- Responsible for effective and efficient fiscal management of department operations to ensure proper utilization of organizational and financial resources.
- Is responsible for department's operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Manage team members which include orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
- Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.
- Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
- May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Qualifications
Minimum Work Experience
- 2 years Experience in an adult Cardiovascular Lab with 5 or more labs providing diagnostic and interventional coronary and peripheral catheterization, EP and device procedures, and other specialty therapies required
- Recent management/leadership experience required
Licenses and Certifications
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
- ACLS Provider (ACLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
- National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) Upon Hire Required
- Current Healthcare license in the State of Florida if applicable Upon Hire Required
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS_CCI) within 1 Year Required or
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES_CCI) within 1 Year Required or
- NASPE within 1 Year Required
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant area.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and potential managerial competency Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective communication skills, ability to deal well with people, ability to problem solve, ability to confront/resolve issues, ability to motivate others, ability to plan, organize, and direct the activities of others.
