The Opportunity

Our U.S. Natural Gas Operations Team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business, and we are seeking a Program Specialist to help lead an exciting new initiative. The preferred reporting location is Spokane, WA but alternate reporting locations across our US operations footprint will be considered with increased travel.

As part of a team reporting to the Regional Manager, this position will be responsible for helping to develop a new program aimed at streamlining and optimizing our operational work procedures. This team with focus on reducing procedural complexity to create clear, actionable work instructions for our field employees.

What you'll do

Procedure Optimization

  • Analyze current work procedures and identify complexity barriers
  • Develop simplified, prescriptive work instructions
  • Ensure alignment between documented procedures and field practices
  • Create clear, concise documentation for field operations

Project Management

  • Lead cross-functional project efforts
  • Coordinate planning and execution of procedural improvement initiatives
  • Track project progress and report to leadership
  • Monitor project costs and develop variance explanations
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage document control and records management
  • Prepare budgets and variance reports
  • Coordinate meetings and schedules
  • Maintain comprehensive project databases
  • Support contracts and invoicing processes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and develop complex procedural information
  • Technical writing skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management capabilities
  • Proficiency in developing clear, actionable documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
  • 2 - 6 years experience in natural gas industry or similar industries
  • Previously demonstrated dedication to safety
  • Ability and initiative to work independently, display creativity, and exercise sound judgement
  • Demonstrated superior organizational skills and proven ability to manage projects within scope and budget
  • Effective analytical skills
  • Skills to effectively operate in a team-oriented environment with a willingness to support team objectives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Work closely with field teams, management, third party resources, and coordinate work with other appropriate technical resources
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle rapidly shifting priorities and multiple projects concurrently, requiring resolution of complex problems in stressful situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP Certification or desire to pursue certification
  • University degree in relevant or related fields

This position requires candidates to

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
  • Be subject to hazardous conditions including escaping gas, adverse weather, heights, lifting, and cramped conditions
  • Be available for overtime and extended work hours as needed
  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home
