Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work onsite for our client in Palm Bay, FL. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • The Project Engineer is responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of their assigned projects.
  • They plan, schedule, predict, and manage all the technical tasks of their projects to assure accuracy, quality, and proper resources and identify any risk from start to finish.
  • Assure and verify compliance with manufacturing methods defined by customer drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements.
  • Approve new and revised customer purchase orders during the contract review procedure.
  • Create and manage all required Bills of Material to support assigned projects.
  • Create supply chain flow-down requirements.
  • Create and approve all manufacturing routers, including time standards for assigned projects.
  • Approves all operation work instruction sheets.
  • Submit tooling and program requests with concepts to appropriate manufacturing engineers.
  • Review and approve all fixture designs and CNC programs.
  • Collaborate with other management personnel and customers to develop and maintain new products and design change milestones.
  • Revise quotes for existing assigned programs.
  • Create and modify operation work instructions using CAD software.
  • Design fixtures, work holding, and inspection gages for assigned projects.
  • Prepare and lead efforts about customer product reviews to include Production Readiness Reviews when applicable.
  • Review and disposition product repairs, reworks, and MRBs.
  • Investigate and oversee root causes and corrective actions on assigned programs.
  • Ensure milestone plan completeness and verify that assigned product tasks are completed accordingly.
  • Lead efforts about customer escape utilizing all other engineering members to ensure accurate data is quickly available for review by the quality manager.
  • Review manufacturing cost data to ensure that the right plans are in place to meet the cost goals for assigned products.
  • Responsible for ensuring Phase 3 and Phase 4 tasks are completed, and approvals are obtained for assigned products.
  • Recommend safety & ergonomic improvements in our material handling devices, manufacturing tools, and workstations to accommodate best practices for shop floor personnel.
  • Participates in discussions with customers and suppliers as necessary.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 10 years of aerospace production-related engineering experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sheet metal forming, TIG welding, and multi-axis machining manufacturing.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Computer-aided Design/Computer-aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system use, shop mathematics, sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, inspection methods, and coatings.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience using Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • IFS experience.
  • Knowledge of material specifications.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Must be able to research, understand, and implement innovative technologies to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Must be able to communicate and read English proficiently.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, symbols, geometric tolerances, and specifications.
  • Ability to effectively make complex decisions with limited time and information and determine decision-making criteria based on priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Truth in Negotiation Act (TINA).
  • Must be very organized when filing all documents for proposals.
  • Good analytical capabilities, with a basic understanding of statistical analysis techniques.
  • Good interpersonal skills, independent problem resolution, proven leadership ability, and the ability to manage the requirements of others.
  • Comfortable leading discussions and debates within peer groups and with matrix business partners, operational partners, and leaders.
  • Capable of mentoring employees.
  • Must be a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.

  • Must be able to lift, move, transport and load items across the building up to 50 pounds at times.

  • May be exposed to physical hazards from moving equipment, heavy equipment, and machine parts.
  • May work in close proximity to others.

  • Normal hearing or corrected to normal.
  • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.
  • Factory environment.
  • Occasional work outside normal business hours.
  • High noise levels from operating machines.
  • Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
  • Breathing fumes, dust, and mist.
  • Skin exposure to chemicals associated with manufacturing.
