Job Summary:
The Prevention Coordinator (PC) will serve as the Substance Abuse Prevention Trainer and Case Manager within the assigned State Army National Guard (ARNG). The PC will report directly to the Risk Reduction Coordinator (RRC) and will be responsible for coordinating and implementing SAP training, case management for referred Soldiers, and supporting the overall SAP, SPP, and Risk Reduction programs. The position involves establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders and coordinating various programs and services designed to mitigate risk and ensure the well-being of service members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Implementation & Coordination:
- Implement program goals, objectives, and standard operating procedures for SAP, SPP, and Risk Reduction programs.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with State Points of Contact (POCs) and other key stakeholders.
- Coordinate and conduct SAP Training for ARNG units, ensuring it meets or exceeds the requirements in AR 600-85 and AR 350-53.
- Facilitate and coordinate the Unit Risk Inventory (URI) and Reintegration Unit Risk Inventory (RURI), ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Assist Unit commanders in reporting and implementing training recommendations from the Risk Mitigation Plan (RMP).
- Case Management & Reporting:
- Manage all Substance Abuse referred Soldier cases, including initial referral, scheduling assessments, tracking progress, coordinating follow-up treatment, and providing weekly check-ins.
- Input all SAP training and case management data into the DAMIS and internal tracking systems.
- Serve as a member of the Commander's Readiness and Resiliency Council (CR2C) and the Adjutant General's Alcohol and Drug Intervention Council (ADIC).
- Provide required weekly/monthly reports to the RRC and assist in preparing Monthly Status Reports.
- Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish and maintain relationships with community-based providers to expand resources for Soldiers and ARNG units.
- Keep the State resource catalog up to date to ensure access to current support services.
- Additional Support & Coordination:
- Attend Substance Abuse Interim Progress Reviews and provide support to the SPC with training and coordination as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a social science or related field, or 3-5 years of practical experience in Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, or Resiliency.
- Experience: Strong experience in instructing, briefing, and coordinating training for diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and work across multiple programs.
- Skills: Strong professional instruction and briefing skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends when state units are conducting training.
