Job Description Summary

Hospital sales leadership position focused on hospital critical care, hepatology, nephrology, and rare diseases. Responsible for hiring, staffing, and leading an experienced specialty sales team to successfully launch and promote the full hospital product line. This role will require leading a senior sales team capable of navigating sophisticated hospital systems and formulary adoption processes. The regional business sales leader should be able to lead his/her team in the education and presentation of complex clinical and economic disease state information in hope of advanced disease diagnosis and expedited treatment. Specialty product launch and P&T formulary approval process experience is essential.

This mission critical position requires strong leadership, organizational agility, drive for results, business acumen, and comfort around senior management with a focus on cross functional team development both internal, among marketing, market access, medical and operations teams as well as external including transplant, hepatology, nephrology, critical care, pharmacy, nursing, and critical care specialties.

Job Description

Essential Functions
  • Meet or exceed sales objectives/quota
  • Comfort in Hospital Systems and familiarity with regional IDNs
  • Hiring and staffing for a high performing regional sales team
  • Develop effective regional business plans and strategy
  • Understanding of hepatology and nephrology disease state
  • Understands the market landscape and competing products
  • Analyzes regional account data, using judgment and experience to identify business opportunities
  • Prioritizes regional sales activities and continually measure and monitors to exceed sales goals
  • Educates KOLs and implements programs consistent with product strategy to drive sales results
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal colleagues and external HCPs/Customers
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, policies and procedures in conducting business
  • Devise and implements a plan to address limited access, competition, and market challenges to positively impact product adoption
  • Understands reimbursement model and value proposition for hospital economics
  • Ability to present complex clinical and economic data
Minimum Requirements
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in relevant field, M.B.A.
  • 5 years recent hospital sales leadership and/or rare disease, critical care experience, or an emphasis in hepatology/nephrology
  • A leader among his or her peers
  • Strong technical and clinical presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of sales success
  • Excellent business acumen, planning and organizational skills
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills with multiple business partners
  • Valid driver's license
  • Required to pass all product training testing
  • Overnight regional travel
  • Ability to coach and take corrective action where needed

Organizational Relationship/Scope:
This position is a leadership position and has approximately 8- 10 direct reports. Territory: Mid-Atlantic Salary Range: $190k - $235k
Working Conditions:
  • 50% Customer Facing/Field Days
