Job Title: Service Crew

FLSA Status: Part Time, Temporary - Exempt
Reports to: Service Crew Leader

Schedule: Varies

Supervises: N/A

Rate of Pay: $325 weekly - 8 weeks

Closing Date: 04/29/2025

Benefits: Standard; Part-Time, Temporary, Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Sick leave benefit - 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire; sick time accrual is pro-rated for part-time hours.)

Function: The Service Crew provide general camp support during the summer and are supervised by the Service Crew Leader. This position works on the grounds, in the dining room, and helps to set up program areas. They serve to ensure that camp runs smoothly and provide assistance where and when needed. This position will adhere to the Camp Code of Conduct, support the Christian camping and ministry culture as well as uphold the mission, and practices of The Salvation Army and its doctrine.

General Duties:

Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.
Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.
Assist with the clean-up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer.
Assist with evening cabin activities.
Attend and participate in Staff Orientation.
Attend and participate in all camp wide activities, campfires, staff meetings and staff devotions
Assist with Camper check-in and check-out.

Specific Duties:

Safety and Supervison:

Enforce, and abide by, all camp policies and procedures
Responsible for the health and well-being of self and campers.
Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times
Practice and enforce all camp safety regulations and emergency procedures.
Maintain group/staff control at specialized group activities so that other support staff can focus on safety.
Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct at all times.
Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion.
Attend relevant in-service trainings.

Weekly Responsibilities:

Report to the Service Crew Leader and follow instructions for daily tasks as assigned.
Assist in the maintenance of High Peak Camp by;
Emptying all outdoor and indoor common trash receptacles.
Maintain camp lawns and landscaping.
Provide general building maintenance.
Maintain trails.
Other tasks as needed.
Setup and clean up of camp fires.
Assist with programming of all campfire programs.
These may include messy games, skits, and songs for campers.

Take part is special camp property projects.
Set and clear tables before and after each meal.
Serve food during assigned meals.
Assist in dining room preparation for each camp session.
Assist in dish rooms duties as assigned.
Clean dishes and dish room floors after each meal.
Deliver program supplies as needed to program areas.
Assist in camper supervision under the direction of other staff members.
Perform all other duties and roles assigned by the Director and Assistant Director.
Due to the particular nature of the camp program in session, you may be asked to assist in duties not directly related to this specific job description. This is necessary for the Smooth operation of the camp. Staff members are expected to comply with all reasonable requests.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

* 16 years of age (by May 1st)
* Ability to following through with assigned tasks.
* Has a strong work ethic and ability to follow procedures.
* Flexible attitude.
* Maintain a high standard of personal and communal living and behaviors.
* Must have or obtain ServSafe certification at time of employment.
* Be supportive of The Salvation Army's mission. Ability to reflect and model the high standards of our organization as one of the world's most distinguished human services charitable organizations.
