Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled Landscaping Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment used in landscaping projects, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.



  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and more.

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and make necessary repairs.

  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on all equipment.

  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and meets safety standards before being used on job sites.

  • Work with the team to prioritize and schedule repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, ensuring they are ready for use.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while performing maintenance and repairs.


Qualifications:



  • Proven experience as a landscaping Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

  • Proven commercial landscaping experience.

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.

  • Valid driver's license.


Preferred Skills:



  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

  • Advanced knowledge of landscaping practices and techniques.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Certification in heavy equipment maintenance/repair preferred (e.g., ASE, or manufacturer-specific certifications).

  • OSHA certification

  • Basic welding or fabrication skills are a plus.


Physical Demands:



  • Ability to lift and carry heavy parts and tools (up to 50 lbs or more).

  • Stamina to work in a physically demanding environment, including kneeling, bending, and crouching.

  • Ability to perform detailed work in tight spaces and on machinery.

  • Manual dexterity for working with small tools and machinery parts.

  • Strong hand-eye coordination and balance for working with and around heavy machinery.

  • Reasonable accommodations can be provided.


Environmental Demands:



  • Work primarily in outdoor and shop environments, subject to weather conditions such as heat, cold, and rain.

  • Exposure to loud noises, dirt, dust, and fumes from engines and heavy equipment.

  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials such as fuels, oils, and other chemicals.

  • Ability to work with large machinery and in confined spaces on job sites and equipment yards.
