Role and Responsibilities: We are looking for a skilled Machine Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently operating and maintaining manufacturing machinery, ensuring seamless production workflows while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Set up and operate packaging machinery for each production run, ensuring that all settings, tools, and materials are properly prepared to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Operate machinery efficiently, monitoring performance to maintain a steady and consistent production flow throughout each shift.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, replacing parts, and conducting thorough inspections to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Record key production data, such as output levels, machine performance, and any issues encountered during the shift, and report any anomalies to supervisors for further action.
- Ensure all production documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and submitted in a timely manner for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Assist in disassembling machinery for cleaning and sterilization, ensuring all components are properly sanitized and reassemble equipment to prepare for the next production cycle.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by shutting down machinery, clearing debris, and securing tools and materials at the end of each shift.
- Replace or adjust packaging materials such as films, zippers, or valves to prevent delays in the production process and ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications:
- Technical or vocational training in machine operation or manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Proven experience with operating packaging machinery or similar equipment.
- Basic understanding of machine setup, operation, and routine inspections.
- Basic understanding of OSHA safety regulations and food safety standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot machinery and equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to clearly communicate any production challenges or machine-related issues.
Preferred Skills:
- Machine operator certifications such as Certified Production Technician (CPT), Certified Machine Operator, or a related field.
- Solid knowledge of basic machine mechanics, including gears, motors, conveyors, and other production machinery.
- Advanced ability to troubleshoot machinery and equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to monitor machine performance and ensure production runs meet quality standards.
Physical Demands & Environmental Demands:
- Ability to operate machinery, handle controls, and make quick adjustments during production processes.
- Must be able to lift materials and machinery parts weighing up to 50 lbs or more as required.
- Frequent handling of machine controls, loading materials, and inspecting products.
- Ability to bend, reach, or kneel to adjust machinery, clear jams, or inspect product quality.
- Exposure to varying temperatures depending on the production environment (e.g., cooler or warmer areas).
- High noise levels in the production area due to machinery operation.
- Potential exposure to dust, fumes, or chemicals depending on the materials or processes involved.
- Work may be performed under dim or harsh lighting, depending on the warehouse or production environment.
- Work areas may be confined, requiring movement in tight spaces or around large machinery.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety shoes, and hearing protection.
