Description
Primary responsibilities:
Leading the patch application process for evaluation of patches periodically for the following NCRC systems:
- Coordinating with the Range Modernization IAVA to support vendor and security patch investigation, download, and analysis to determine applicability to an NCRC system
- Patches will be initially identified by the Range Modernization IAVA
- Once patches are identified as applicable/relevant to an NCRC system, then this person will work with other Range Modernization technical leads to coordinate and schedule ARMS subsystem access to enable patch deployment and testing
- Coordinating with the Range Modernization Release Manager to include patches into upcoming associated baseline releases (e.g., AB release for the EES, IDEB for the IDE, and ARMSB for the ARMS)
- Alerting the leads for the following teams of existence of required patches to be applied to the ARMS subsystem(s) those teams have the ownership and responsibility to update:
- Infrastructure: Administration System
- DevSecOps: Platform Services
- Software: Development Testbeds, Integration Development Range, and Integration Cyber Range
- I&T: Preproduction Development Range, Preproduction Cyber Range
- Leading the deployment and install of ARMSB release updates to ARMS Administration System, including the scheduling and coordination with other Range Modernization technical leads
- Leading the identification, tracking, and implementation of any patching-related process or solution improvement ideas for the IDE, EES, and ARMS NCRC systems
- This includes any design, implementation, and testing support activities for those improvement ideas
- Note all improvement ideas will require Range Modernization leadership and Government approval (just as any baseline change effort)
Secondary responsibilities:
- Administering and maintaining ARMS Administration services
- Implementing and managing ARMS access management and authentication system
- This includes the IAM system (e.g., Active Directory) and associated processes such as user account creation, group policy management, and security settings
- Supporting technology investigations and modernization initiatives associated with ARMS system infrastructure
- Tracking issues/resolutions associated with ARMS networking and infrastructure devices (including switches, firewalls, and SDNs)
- Assisting Range Modernization technical teams with ARMS hardware installation and configuration activities
- Performing ARMS system monitoring, diagnostics, and support any troubleshooting of its system infrastructure
- Documenting ARMS installation and configuration procedures and troubleshooting steps
- Performing ARMS system backups

Requirements
- At least three (3) years of experience in System Administration, to include: Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation, and Linux and/or Windows environments
- Top Secret clearance eligibility
- CompTIA Security+ CE (or higher DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification)
- Strong experience with Linux-based operating systems
- Proficiency in Windows and/or Linux system administration
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Experience with system patching, vulnerability management, and compliance enforcement
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain administration
- Experience with MFA, PKI, and/or SSO services
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, and firewalls
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve system issues independently
- Experience with project logistics and working with controlled engineering baselines
- Demonstrated ability to work within teams
- Strong organizational skills
Desired Skills
- At least five (5) years of experience in System Administration, computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline
- Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN and Git
- Knowledge of software development processes to include agile software development practices; programming languages; operating systems; networks; enterprise and consumer IT concepts, architectures, and systems (compute, network, storage)
- Proficiency in one or more of the following programming or scripting languages: Python, Java, C/C++, PowerShell, and bash
