Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES) is a global producer of fertilizer and methanol. The Operations Services team is primarily located in Wichita, KS and supports the production facilities across North America. As a Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will play a crucial role in achieving our operating vision by providing subject matter expertise and developing and implementing strategies that result in highly reliable turbomachinery. You will seek to understand and optimize the contribution of turbomachinery and other equipment to business results. You can expect to engage with and support operating facilities, project managers, fabrication and repair shops, and outside engineering capabilities.

The preference is for this role to be based in Wichita, Kansas USA, but has the flexibility to be officed out of a KAES production facility. Expected travel is 25% and is flexible depending on the needs at the business/site. Some business needs require working during weekends and night shifts for limited periods within a year. This role offers a hybrid working model and is eligible for relocation. For the right candidate and circumstances, we are open to considering a remote working model.

What You Will Do
* Apply industry best practices for machinery mechanical design, operation, and maintenance
* Perform gap assessments of each plant's turbomachinery against industry norms
* Implement asset strategies for turbomachinery including necessary instrumentation, operating limits, spare parts, inspections, and end-of-life replacements
* Advise on inspections and replacement purchase orders for all turbomachinery
* Review equipment datasheets and procurement packages for potential reliability issues and mitigations
* Review proposed process changes considering machinery optimization
* Use production and inspection data to inform decision-making
* Champion the installation of sensors to monitor machinery performance
* Perform data analysis to identify and communicate business opportunities and prioritize action
* Advise on equipment root cause failure analysis and apply learnings across the business
* Evergreen the company engineering practices to meet the business vision
* Participate in industry communities of practice to apply learnings to KAES equipment
* Periodic travel to production facilities, fabricators, and industry conferences

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
* At least 10 years of experience with high-speed rotating equipment in the chemical, petro-chemical, or oil/gas industries
* Proven ability to perform vibration analysis of high-speed rotating equipment
* Working knowledge of machinery health and monitoring tools (e.g., System 1, Machinery Health Monitor, SEEQ, PI System Explorer)
* Working knowledge of machinery design standards and recommended practices for special purpose turbines and axial compressors (i.e., API 610 / 611 / 612 / 617 / 618 / 676)
* Proven ability to manage individual and team contributions across multiple projects
* Experience leveraging analytical tools such as Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, PI System Explorer, SEEQ for data-driven decision-making
* Working knowledge of machinery design standards and recommended practices for turbines, pumps, and compressors (i.e., API 610 / 611 / 618 / 676)

* Working knowledge of ammonia, nitric acid, and urea process machinery design and control philosophies
