Position Title:Crane Maintenance Technician

Operating Company: Environmental Solutions Group - Heil Environmental

Location: Fort Payne, AL

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Department: Engineering / Facility

Shift: 1st

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Overhead Crane Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining overhead cranes and other mechanical lifting devices. Our ideal candidates have a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, can troubleshoot problems efficiently, and are committed to maintaining the highest safety standards. Ultimately, the Overhead Crane Technician will ensure that all our lifting devices are in a safe, working condition to facilitate smooth and efficient operations.

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Diagnose and repair problems in such areas as mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Install new cranes and hoists to specifications.
  • Conduct safety inspections and tests to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs.
  • Provide emergency repairs quickly and efficiently.
  • Maintain service records of all maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Lead all crane related projects to ensure projects meet deadlines and production is not interrupted.
  • As needed, assist maintenance technicians when trouble calls arise that are preventing production from operating.

MaintenanceClass III must have 5 years of minimum experience in the Industrial Crane Maintenance Profession. Testing is administered based on the needs of the Company and employee's request.

Requirements:

Education: Requires a High School diploma or GED.

Experience: MaintenanceClass III position must have 5 years minimum experience in the Industrial Maintenance Profession

Knowledge:Requires ability to understand general arithmetic; ability to write in an understandable manner; understand verbal or written instructions; ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials; use PC based applications, including Leading2Lean CMMS Software, JDE, Outlook, and Microsoft Office, knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience. Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.

Mental:Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to operate machinery approximately 25% of time.

Physical:Requires walking/standing approximately 70%, lifting to 40 pounds approximately 15% of time; involves repetitive overhead work approximately 10% of time; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 5% of time.

Manual Dexterity:Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate all manufacturing equipment, meters, chains hoists, automatic drills and general hand tools and to record written information.

Audible Demands:Requires ability to follow verbal instructions and to listen for safety purposes.

Visual:Requires the ability to visually observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance and safety; color and depth perception required.

Environmental:Exposure to plant environments with the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.
