Job Description

The qualified candidate will work with a team of support staff to resolve end-user phone, chat, and email requests for computer-related issues including operating system, application, system, device configuration, and performance issues. This role will support the team by providing primary troubleshooting and expertise for PC imaging, keep images current and patched, and recommend PC hardware to support a standardized hardware plan, as well as assist with IT hardware lifecycle planning and phased hardware refreshes across the organization.

The Senior System Engineer is a senior technical specialist with lead responsibility for design, implementation and sustaining operation of the PPPO IT and communications networks. The Senior System Administrator is responsible for assisting with deployment and maintaining proficient operations on a wireless network infrastructure at all three PPPO Sites, including service for internal personnel, employee personnel and guest network connectivity for PPPO federal and contractor support personnel at all three sites (Portsmouth, Paducah, and Lexington).?Responsible for managing the mobile enterprise (Android and Blackberry UEM). Provide system upgrades, storage management, patching and backup.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (IT) from an accredited college or university and five years' experience or ten years' experience in network and server administration

  • Experience with designing, deploying and maintaining VMware Datacenter, Horizon View and network storage

  • Expert level experience in designing, deploying and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory and infrastructure systems including Exchange, File Servers, MDM management, SharePoint and PKI

  • Detailed knowledge of networking, Linux and Cisco equipment

  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment

  • Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and client personnel.

Federal Government Clearance:

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
