Sheetfed Press - Operator I

Job Summary:

Set up of machine, trouble shooting, quality checks, maintenance on machine.

Reports to:

Sheet Press Supervisor

Direct Reports:

None

Lean Expectations (Each employment anniversary year):

• Participate in at least two hours of educational experience (s) such as job shadowing, technical skills training, cross training, webinars, seminars, Lean networking tours, etc.
• Implement at least one improvement idea.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Run press speed capable for job
• Correctly set ink and press for a job
• Recognize any problems with press, ink or paper and correct problems
• Able to maintain press
• Cut stock for jobs to be printed
• Mix ink for a job when needed
• Able to identify different kinds of stock
• Make sure all stock and ink is entered in the covalent
• Pull running samples and file in correct spot
• Follows all required safety procedures, such as: PPEs, Ergonomics, Chemical Hazards, etc. Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.

Qualifications:

• Able to work alone and able to get along with other people
• Able to work overtime when needed
• Able to lift 70 lbs.
• Self starter
• Mechanical abilities

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Must be able to lift, carry, and stack paper stock and carts weighing between 30 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to pick up, carry for 6-8ft, and set down 40 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to stand, squat, climb and kneel constantly for up to a 10hour shift.

Occasionally 0-2.5 hours, Frequently 2.5-5 hours, Constantly over 5 hours
