Focus: Health & Safety Technician is responsible for working closely with the assigned organization, contractors, site leadership, and other members of the Texas Operations Site, to ensure full compliance with all Health and Safety regulations, enhance awareness, and improve performance.

The Freeport site is the single largest chlor alkali complex in the world with more than 1,000 employees. The chemical products produced at our Freeport location include chlorine and caustic soda, vinyls, epoxies, chlorinated organics, aromatics, bleach, hydrogen, and hydrochloric acid.

Health & Safety Technician Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations for assigned facilities; perform field observations and audits of life critical standards
  • Perform Health & Safety onboarding of new employees
  • Complete compliance tasks and lead the organization around tasks and behaviors required to meeting objectives
  • Implement changes as part of targeted improvements and company-wide harmonization efforts
  • Provide technical Health & Safety expertise and coaching to facilitate broad accountability of the H&S processes

Health & Safety Technician Minimum Requirements:

  • Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree* and 2+ years of Environmental or H&S experience in a chemical plant; OR,
    • Associates degree* and 6+ years of Environmental or H&S experience in a chemical plant; OR,
    • High school diploma or equivalent and 10+ years relevant experience in a chemical plant with a focus on EHS improvements
  • Working knowledge of all EHS regulations, standards, processes, and tools; plant/department operations and processes; root cause analysis processes
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on initiatives, manage conflict, and provide resolution
  • Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
