Position Overview: This position assumes the ownership and growth of SIMS service offerings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:




  • Conduct on site visits to customer storerooms or SIMS trailers to evaluate inventory levels and create replenishment orders based on min/reorder levels established by the customer using a scanning system.



  • Assure the accuracy of customer's inventory system by maintaining and updating all product information and product labels on shelving and bins.



  • Organize and set up product based on customer preferences.



  • Stock material on customer shelves as required.



  • Facilitate customer requests and problem resolution in a timely manner.



  • Effectively communicate with SIMS team or other SYD resources on customer needs or requests.



  • Continue to develop relationships with the identified key personnel; project managers, field supervisors, electricians, storeroom personnel, purchasing agents.



  • Enter sales calls with pertinent customer information or feedback.



  • Identify opportunities to promote additional SYD services.



  • Work jointly with account salesperson on products that are not in the inventory management program but have potential for inclusion.



  • Develop additional add-on sales to increase overall sales and gross profi



  • Maintain high level of customer confidence through excellent customer service and support.



  • Gain an understanding of project coordination, job conditions, scheduling of material and project management for our SIMS jobs.



  • Follow up on all open orders, bids, and credits with customer until completed.



  • Continual education on electrical products, applications, and solutions is required



  • Maintain safety standards established by SYD and the customer while on a job site or in a storeroom.




Knowledge / Experience / Education




  • Possess good time management skills



  • Highly motivated and positive attitude



  • Good verbal and written communication skills



  • Basic computer skills - familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet Explorer.



  • Current Pennsylvania driver's license with clean driving record required



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required



  • Construction knowledge or distribution knowledge helpful



  • Sales experience helpful.




Required Behaviors




  • Travel locally to SYD and customer locations as required



  • Check and respond to all voice mail, e-mail and Eclipse messages daily



  • Attend all required training and meetings, and properly record training hours in Eclipse.



  • Provide emergency service and delivery for customers as required



  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.



  • High degree of attention to detail



  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
