Summary
Responsible for daily operations of the LNG plant. Supervise all personnel at the plant. Ensure work is prioritized and completed on time. Maintain plant and equipment operations, ensuring availability 24/7. Leads team on 24-hour call to minimize equipment downtime and ensure safe & efficient operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Directs LNG facility personnel in operations, maintenance, security, and safety
* Participates in industry groups like the LNG Consortium
* Establishes and follows up on maintenance and production schedules, as well as shift and vacation schedules
* Establishes routine maintenance schedules
* Schedules training sessions and safety meetings, assuring proficiency to meet DOT required certification
* Checks facility for safe, efficient operational condition on a regular basis
* Initiates requisitions for all O&M and Capital expenditures
* Monitors chemical, lubricant, and supply quantities and consumption as needed; reviewing operating and maintenance records for accuracy and completeness
* Conducts regular equipment and personnel tests to ensure that liquefaction and vaporization equipment will function properly when activated
* Reviews fire, safety and facility security measures and implements changes as required
* Directs personnel in carrying out LNG truck shipments and receipts
* Writes operations and maintenance procedures and updates manuals as necessary.
* As needed, acts as a liaison among our Contractors, Measurement, Gas Control, Distribution, and Construction to facilitate the completion of facility modifications.
* Directs, monitors, and inspects work conducted by outside contractors.
* Review drawings, specifications, and installation of new electrical and mechanical equipment installations.
* Maintain qualifications as an LNG Operator in order to operate equipment or supervise operations as needed.
* Ensure completion of regulatory compliance related tasks
* Maintain accurate documentation of plant operations and work, particularly for regulatory compliance.

* General understanding of the natural gas industry and regulatory environment
* Familiar with fabrication and welding procedures, pressure and temperature ratings.
* Has an understanding of processes, equipment, mechanical functions, electrical circuits, piping and instrument drawings, code requirements, control loops, and safety functions.
* Effective at driving results through others and developing them along the way
* Ability to effectively manage work on multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to understand chemical properties, physics, DOT and NFPA codes, comprehension of engineering drawings for electrical, mechanical, piping, and control loops.
* Ability to use PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Supervisory Responsibilities
* Responsible for all operators and maintenance specialists at the plant.
* Leads plant personnel by example. Participates with the team in troubleshooting and daily work.
* Ensures plant personnel is trained and maintains qualifications for their roles.
* Sets schedule to cover plant operations 24/7.
* Delegates tasks and reviews work completed.
Required Education (certifications, licenses)
* Associate's Degree is required, relevant experience may be substituted for this requirement
* 4+ Years natural gas or plant experience required, with 6 years preferred
* LNG experience strongly preferred
* AL Driver's license (Hazardous material CDL preferred)
* All terrain forklift certification
* Maintain LNG Operator qualifications
* Annual certification on first aid and CPR
Required knowledge, skill and abilities
* Demonstrated leadership ability required with previous supervisory experience preferred.
* Mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and/or cryogenics preferred
* General understanding of the natural gas industry and regulatory environment
* Familiar with fabrication and welding procedures, pressure and temperature ratings.
* Has an understanding of processes, equipment, mechanical functions, electrical circuits, piping and instrument drawings, code requirements, control loops, and safety functions.
* Effective at driving results through others and developing them along the way
Physical demands, environment and schedule
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Work is occasionally performed in a moderately noisy business office. At times, work is performed in wet or humid conditions; near moving mechanical parts; in an area with fumes; in an area with airborne particles; in an area with toxic or caustic chemicals; in extreme heat (non-weather); with risk of electrical shock; in an area exposed to radiation; in an area exposed to vibration; in a private office; in cramped or confined spaces; in a very loud noise area; and in outdoor weather conditions of extreme cold and extreme heat. Must be able to perform duties on storage tanks in excess of 100 feet, as well as operating personnel lifts to those heights. Must be able to perform duties in confined spaces and work outdoors, in all types of weather, year-round. Requires ability to lift and carry loads in excess of 20 pounds
* Typically 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
* On-call duty, as necessary to maintain equipment operations
* Requires participation in drug testing program
* Work environment requires use of Personal Protective equipment (PPE) clothing, eye wear, boots
* Some work on evenings, weekends and holidays required
* Occasional travel required
