Position Overview

We are seeking an early career Environmental Scientist to provide technical support for field and project work, primarily for Federal and private clients across California. This role offers a blend of field and office work, involving environmental sample collection, project planning, data evaluation, and technical reporting. The ideal candidate will be passionate about environmental science, have strong technical skills, and be able to handle a mix of field and office tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with field activities, including environmental sample collection (soil, water, air, tissue) and subcontractor oversight.
  • Provide technical support for planning document preparation, permit assistance, and data evaluation for environmental projects.
  • Assist with report development, including site characterization and remediation at complex CERCLA sites.
  • Contribute to work on emerging contaminants and multiple types of impacted environmental media.
  • Perform cost estimating and support project planning and coordination.
  • Conduct physical labor in the field as required.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, or another applicable science-based discipline.
  • 0-2 years of related professional experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Ability to perform field activities, including environmental sample collection and physical labor.


Desired Qualifications

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
  • Prior experience working on site characterization and remediation projects.
  • Experience managing subcontractors
  • M.S. Degree


Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.


Drug Screen Statement

Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen.

Pay Range

$55,000 - $70,000 USD

The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
