Responsibilities Supports the Bank's Commercial Appraisal Manager in the commissioning and review process, whose purpose is to ensure that appraisals are independently commissioned from competent appraisers, appraisals are completed in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, value conclusions are appropriate and fully supported, and the Bank has sufficient third party appraisal resources available to allow for timely turnaround of loan transactions.
Qualifications Education/Training: BS or BA degree in Business or a related field along with specialized education in commercial property appraisal theory and application; licensed as a state certified appraiser in New York and/or Pennsylvania. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Skills: Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; a thorough knowledge of appraisal theory relative to all types of commercial real estate; demonstrated project management skills; and, personal computer proficiency including an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel. Experience: Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience completing a wide variety of commercial appraisal and appraisal review assignments. In-depth knowledge of USPAP is required and solid experience dealing with complex appraisal assignments is a plus. Prior commercial real estate lending experience helpful, but not required; however, a sound working knowledge of issues inherent in commercial real estate lending must be demonstrated.
