THE POSITION
-
This is a professional and supervisory position in the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS)' Bureau of Communications and Counseling, Employer Service Center (ESC). This employee is responsible for supervising the ESC staff, which provides training and customer service to the agency's 775+ public school employers, their computer software providers, and related professional organizations. This employee is also responsible for assisting in seasonal projects for the agency and works with employers to educate them about reporting requirements, legislative changes and provides guidance for correctly submitting their employee's personal, position, and financial work history data to PSERS and to the Third-party Administrator (TPA).

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Assists in the planning, organization, directing, implementation, and evaluating of all functions of a comprehensive communications program with public school employers in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This includes establishing program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Responsible for supervising the ESC staff, directing that staff in alignment with the goals and strategies of the bureau and the agency's mission, and serving as a member of PSERS' call center. The amount of time dedicated to answering telephones will be determined by operational needs. As a front-line supervisor, the individual is responsible for participation in the call center in addition to directing it. Oversees staffing, training, and evaluation of all phases of agency communications program with school employers. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Retirement System Regional Representative (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of professional experience related to retirement benefits and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of professional experience related to retirement benefits.
