Description

Role and Responsibilities:


Join us as a Custodial/Janitorial Supervisor and lead a dedicated team in keeping our spaces clean and welcoming! In this important role, you will oversee the daily operations of our janitorial contract and work with a team primarily composed of adults with disabilities.



  • Supervise a Custodial team made up of individuals with disabilities.

  • Lead a small team of Custodial Workers, including conducting performance evaluations, managing leave requests, and recommending disciplinary actions when necessary.

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor the daily activities of the Custodial team.

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise staff to ensure outstanding customer service and operational efficiency.

  • Manage attendance records and payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, safeguarding the security and confidentiality of all documents and data.

  • Participate in hands-on custodial duties as needed.

  • Inspect work both in progress and upon completion to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Assess buildings and equipment to determine cleaning needs and report any maintenance or repair requirements.

  • Order and maintain necessary tools, equipment, supplies, and materials for custodial tasks.

  • Maintain records, prepare activity reports, and submit requisitions for supplies and equipment as needed.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of (1) one years' supervisory or Team Lead experience.

  • Minimum of (2) two years Janitorial/Custodian experience.

  • Strong understanding of various cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.

  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.

  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols, especially concerning chemicals, equipment, and handling cleaning supplies.

  • Must have a valid driver's license


Preferred Skills:



  • Certification in custodial or facilities management.

  • Ability to assess and solve problems proactively.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, scheduling software, payroll systems).

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.

  • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.


Physical & Environmental Demands:



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to climb ladders and use cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and floor scrubbers.

  • May be exposed to cleaning chemicals and other hazardous materials; proper use of safety equipment is required.

  • Work in various environments, including office buildings, restrooms, and outdoor areas.

  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions, depending on the location and weather.
