Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Edit/Media Specialist for the Division of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement. Reporting to the Associate Director of Administration, The Senior Edit/Media Specialist is the lead staff member responsible for the production of a wide range of multimedia communication materials that promote internal and external awareness and understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity as key institutional values.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provides independent thought leadership serving as the primary expert in multimedia engagement and is responsible for content development to advance the organizational mission of the Division of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement.
- Manages DICE social media accounts and the nbdiversity.rutgers.edu website, oversight of graphic design, and curation of assets to support the organization's mission (photography, video, etc.).
- Drives awareness of institutional commitment to diversity and highlights individual campus resources, programs, and initiatives that promote an inclusive campus climate.
- Develops a communications strategy that integrates traditional, digital, visual, and emerging media to accomplish these aims in visually forward ways.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Minimum a bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, communication, journalism, English, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates skill, knowledge, and understanding, as appropriate, of public relations, promotions, event design and production, marketing, hospitality, proofreading, writing, editing, public communications, organization, coordination, and project management.
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in a public relations or promotions/event planning function, good communication skills, and computer literacy to include industry standard software.

- Ability to work independently with little guidance.

- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Be self-motivated and detailed oriented.
- Must be self-reliant and demonstrate professional judgement.
- Ability to effectively interact with diverse populations, including work with a variety of units and departments to meet area mission.
- Requires the ability to multi-task, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Position must be able to maintain confidentiality and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Preference for experience in higher education or a non-profit organization and work in a fast-paced, high visibility executive office.

Equipment Utilized |
- Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat; The position must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud.
- The position will demonstrate a high level of proficiency and knowledge in the use of production printers, content management systems such as Drupal 8, and social media management tools.
