We are seeking a Marketing Specialist I to support product marketing initiatives within the Consumer Payments B2B Marketing team. In this role, you will help develop strategic messaging, sales enablement materials, and go-to-market content that drive engagement and business growth for Optum Financial's consumer benefit solutions.

About the Role This role is product marketing-focused, with an emphasis on developing strategic messaging, positioning, and content to support sales and client teams. You will work cross-functionally with stakeholders in marketing, sales, and product to create compelling materials that drive awareness and adoption of our solutions.

As a Marketing Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our sales and client teams are equipped with the right tools, insights, and messaging to succeed in a competitive market.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Develop and execute product marketing strategies to support our Optum Financial business objectives
  • Translate product marketing insights into high-impact sales collateral, including pitch decks, one-pagers, battlecards, internal training materials, and thought leadership content
  • Create and maintain value propositions and messaging frameworks that clearly articulate the impact of Optum Financial's solutions
  • Build and refine PowerPoint presentations and sales enablement materials to ensure they are visually compelling and strategically aligned
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and alignment across marketing and growth initiatives
  • Partner with sales teams to refine messaging and develop materials that enhance client conversations
  • Support marketing campaigns and engagement efforts for employer audiences
  • Identify gaps in current sales and marketing materials and proactively develop new solutions
  • Develop differentiated positioning and messaging for payer and employer markets
  • Leverage market research and competitive insights to inform product positioning and marketing strategies

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in a marketing, sales enablement, communications, or product marketing role
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Office Suite, with solid presentation development and storytelling skills



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Understanding of sales processes and buyer journeys in a B2B environment, particularly in employer benefits, payers, or financial wellness solutions
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, product, and business leadership teams to align marketing with strategic business objectives
  • Ability to translate complex financial and health care concepts into clear, concise, and compelling messaging for different audiences (employers, payers, brokers, etc.)
  • Familiarity with marketing automation and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo) to track marketing effectiveness and engagement
  • Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) to create visually engaging sales and marketing materials
  • Experience conducting competitive analysis and leveraging market research to develop insights-driven marketing strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience writing marketing copy, sales collateral, and executive-facing materials



The hourly range for this role is $28.61 to $56.06 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
