Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Title Specialist to join our team. This role requires a deep understanding of title review, lien clearance, property taxes, and the overall mortgage loan process. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in the mortgage industry, specifically working with title, and be capable of handling files from application to closing. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct title review and identify any potential issues, including liens, encumbrances, and title defects. * Verify property taxes to ensure they are current, and manage delinquent tax issues. * Handle lien clearance, including understanding lien positions, payoffs, and when additional support is needed. * Set up property taxes in loan files, including reviewing and incorporating tax documents provided by the title company. * Work closely with title companies, mortgage lenders, and closing teams to ensure files are accurately processed and ready for closing. * Utilize Encompass or similar loan origination systems (training available if needed). * Manage loans from application to closing, ensuring a smooth transition through each stage. * Assist with closing processes, including reviewing final documents and ensuring compliance with regulations. Qualifications: * Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the mortgage industry, specifically in title processing. * Strong knowledge of property taxes, lien clearance, and title-related processes. * Experience with mortgage loan processing, understanding the full progression from application to closing. * Prior experience with closing transactions within a mortgage lender, title company, or related field. * Familiarity with Encompass is preferred but not required (training available). * Experience with commercial lending, FHA, VA, and consumer loans is a plus. * Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files efficiently. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
