Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women's Health Job Description
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health invites applications for an Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitalist. We are seeking a team of Ob/Gyn Hospitalists to provide 24/7 inpatient coverage at our state-of-the-art tertiary care center. Our Clinical Model: The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health at the University of Missouri is composed of over 30 physician faculty across six divisions with excellent opportunities for collaboration related to patient care, teaching, and research. Responsibilities: Primary responsibility for OB Triage patients Dual coverage of Labor and Delivery with two in-house attending physicians at all times to optimize patient safety Assist with vaginal delivery, Cesarean delivery, management of obstetrical emergencies, and inpatient care Teach resident physicians (5 residents per PGY year) and medical students Work collaboratively with Emergency Department, Nursing, Maternal Fetal Medicine and General Ob/Gyn to optimize safety processes and simulation Proposed Schedule 7 on, 7 off (26 weeks of service per year) Day Shift: 7AM-7PM Nocturnist Shift: 7PM-7AM Our Facilities & Support: 14 General Ob/Gyn Physicians; 4 Full-Time MFM Physicians; 3 Full-Time Certified Nurse Midwives AIUM-accredited ultrasound unit Level I Trauma Center and Level IV maternity care center In-house dedicated team of obstetrical anesthesiologists and CRNA's 60-bed NICU The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills and a desire to work within a model of team-based care.
