EHS Manager

Job Summary

In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of the site and applicable corporate EHS policies and procedures, as well as compliance to all relevant Corporate, National and State regulations. Key part of the role is to engage with all personnel on the site to develop and build a Interdependent Safety culture and be the example by displaying Felt Leadership and compliance to highest levels of safety awareness.
This position reports to the Site Plant Manager and be a key member of the Operations leadership team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the EHS team, including hiring, termination, and performance management.
  • Ensure site safety through safety reviews, risk assessments, and training programs.
  • Maintain compliance reporting for OSHA, environmental bodies, and corporate requirements.
  • Oversee site waste handling and aim for "zero to landfill" through a Green team.
  • Collaborate with leadership to maintain ISO 14001 certification.
  • Implement contractor management policies across the site.
  • Align EHS goals with operating model objectives and lead problem-solving activities.
  • Serve as the primary contact for EHS matters internally and externally.
  • Roll out and apply corporate MOCs and policies at the site.
  • Promote employee engagement in EHS and support safety culture development.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in EHS field or equivalent progressive work experience to compensate for degree.
  • 10+ years EHS experience in a food/pharma/chemical plant
  • 6+ years successful leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of Safe Behaviors and Practices, as well as Machine safety
  • Ability to train personnel as it relates to OSHA and Corporate-wide safety requirements.
  • Experience in implementing & maintaining site wide safety-related programs.
