Job Type: Full-time What's the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting the USBR and other water resource related projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water resources engineering, project management, and a proven track record of successfully leading projects within the federal or state government sector, in particular the USBR.

Anchor QEA leads exciting projects related to water resources, dams and hydropower throughout the Northwest and elsewhere! This role involves overseeing various water resource projects, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote sustainable water management practices.

Responsibilities:



  • Project Management: Lead and manage water resources engineering projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely completion within budget and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert technical guidance on water resources engineering principles, including hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, and watershed management.
  • Design and Analysis: Conduct detailed analyses and design for water supply systems, flood control projects, and irrigation systems, utilizing advanced engineering software and modeling tools.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as community stakeholders, to gather input, address concerns, and promote project acceptance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects meet federal, state, and local environmental regulations and guidelines, including NEPA, ESA, and Clean Water Act requirements.
  • Funding and Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, funding proposals, and grant applications to secure financing for water resource initiatives.
  • Research and Development: Stay informed about the latest developments in water resources technology and practices; incorporate innovative solutions into project designs and strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing training and support to enhance their professional development.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive project reports, technical documentation, and presentations for stakeholders and decision-makers.



What Are We Looking For?



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in water resources engineering, with a focus on project management for government agencies such as the US Bureau of Reclamation.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license required; ability to obtain licensure in multiple states is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD, GIS) and strong analytical skills.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing complex projects, including familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and foster a positive work environment.

Salary and Other Compensation:



  • Salary: $173,000 - $197,000 annually
  • Annual Bonus
  • Other potential bonus types: Billable Time Bonus, Spot Bonus, Milestone Anniversary Bonus, Receiving Professional License/Certification Bonus, Peer-reviewed Publication Bonus, Employee Referral Bonus.


Base Level Benefits for Regular Full-Time Positions:
